Policy of JLGA

The mission of JLGA is to make sure that every member of the LGBT community feels “a sense of security.” In order to achieve this mission, we are always on the quest for ways to maximize the level of security and ensure that JLGA gets involved in the services that our partner companies and organizations provide so that they are easy to use.

JLGA supports the ideas and lifestyles of every member of society. Often times, LGBT people are all lumped together as LGBT, however, each member of the LGBT community has different values and lifestyles. JLGA values and embraces those differences. The society consists of a number of various members such as individuals, municipal administrations, companies, and hospitals and each member supports one another. JLGA would like to create a society that is even more secure by becoming the bridge between those members.

Activities of JLGA

Having always envisaged ways to create a society where each member of the LGBT community feels a sense of security and to suggest a life path for LGBT people who share similar worries and concerns, JLGA was founded. By acting as a neutral bridge between various members of society, JLGA aims to achieve the goals we have envisaged over the years via the following four activities.

For LGBT people to live a better life

• Hosting various meet-ups and events
• Providing consultation services on legal matters
• Providing services relating to everyday life matters such as marriage, housing, funeral services and so on.
• Providing career services such as job search

For LGBT people to live like themselves

• Hosting various events
• Providing volunteering opportunities

To change society

• Providing study sessions
• Hosting events to interact with members of the local society
• Conducting surveys
• Providing certifications to public bodies

To change companies

• Providing study sessions to companies
• Anonymously delivering the opinions / voices of LGBT people to the companies for which they work
• Providing certifications to the companies

About the logo

The motif of the logo

The smile logo was designed using the first letter, J, of JLGA to represent “happiness.” On top of that, we intend to convey “neutrality” by aligning the two J’s symmetrically and “connections and mutual support between people and society”, by making the J’s look like two people taking each other’s hand.
Additionally, we used the color green in gradation to give a sense of safety and security. This signifies how JLGA truly values diversity where everybody is different, and is a firm believer that we need to deal with societal issues through not a single, but various perspectives.
